A Much-Needed Hug
Today, I chose to sit in the first row on my flight. I had sat in the first two rows on Southwest flights for 10 years because my husband was wheelchair bound. He passed away in 2023, and I didn’t realize that sitting up front would set off such a grief bomb. Flight Attendant Crystal saw my tears and asked if she could give me a hug. After she finished the Safety demo, she sat and asked me about him and our family. It really helped me to focus on the happy memories. Her hug was much-needed and so appreciated. I thanked her of course, but also wanted to give her official recognition for going above and beyond by giving a crying widow a hug.
